About Susie

I have been painting seriously for over 30 years and now work out of my small studio in Farnham, Surrey.

Flowers and buildings are my key areas of interest and watercolour is the perfect medium for me to capture both the calm and vitality I always feel in studying my subjects. You can see some examples in my Flower & Nature Gallery. Buildings, especially historic ones, in and around Farnham continue to be popular subjects for many of my commissions. You can see some examples in my Buildings & Architecture Gallery.  I am a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and my work has been featured in The Times.

My designs have been made into a wide range of cards, gifts and products and my work is on display and available to buy at regular Exhibitions as well as in many shops and online.

I also have a deep love for my town of Farnham which inspires a lot of my architectural work. The video below produced for my Exhibition at the New Ashgate Gallery gives a flavour of my work and my approach to its creation.

Susie Lidstone brings the town to life through intricate watercolours filled with detail, colour and character. From historic streets to hidden gardens, her work captures Farnham as only someone who truly knows and loves it can.”

This video has been made for my 2025 solo exhibition at the New Ashgate Gallery, giving a flavour my commission work and looking at the hidden spaces of Farnham.

Susie Lidstone offers a strikingly detailed view of the town – not just its well-known streets and buildings, but the quieter, often unnoticed corners that define its character. Her work brings out the texture of Farnham with care and precision, built on a long-standing familiarity with the town she knows so well.”
